Leticia is a city located in southern Colombia end. It is the capital of the Department of the Amazon. Despite being away from the main urban centers of the country without road communication is an important commercial link with Brazil because of its situation border city on the Amazon River and close to the tripartite milestone with Peru and Brazil.
Currently it meets nearly 60% of the population of the department and the largest indigenous part of diverse communities as Huitotos, Ingas, Tucanos, Ticunas and Nukak. The city has a large population growth and technically form a single city with the Brazilian town of Tabatinga.
